Government oversight of the casino industry is set to be significantly strengthened. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently introduced new policy guidelines to promote the sound development of the domestic casino sector and ensure user protection. This initiative focuses on ensuring that casinos operate transparently as key elements of the tourism industry, rather than merely as gambling facilities.
Policies to Enhance Industrial Integrity
To ensure operational transparency, the government plans to conduct thorough quarterly performance reviews of casino operators and digitize revenue management systems. Furthermore, for integrated resort-style casino facilities, the government intends to strengthen performance evaluations linked to tourist attraction figures to encourage contributions to regional economic vitalization. This is interpreted as a strong government commitment to establishing a structure where casinos can coexist with local communities.
