According to Kangwon Land's Q2 earnings disclosure, stable operations in the casino sector and an increase in resort facility users drove overall revenue. This performance represents a 13.5% increase compared to the same period last year, and industry experts largely evaluate this as a solid management achievement despite the regulated environment of the casino industry.
Key Factors for Revenue Growth
Kangwon Land's performance is the result of a gradual recovery in casino visitors combined with increased usage rates of lodging and leisure facilities within the resort. In particular, as programs for family customers were strengthened ahead of the summer vacation season, revenue from the non-casino sector grew by more than 10% year-on-year. Additionally, cost-cutting efforts through operational efficiency are reported to have significantly contributed to the improvement of the operating profit margin.
